Single Origin and Single Cultivar are relatively common in the coffee and red wine industries. In fact, the tea industry has also developed the concepts of single origin and single cultivar.
Single Origin - This means that a single tea garden is responsible for planting, tea processing, packaging and sales, which is a tea production model from beginning to end.
Single cultivar - Most tea products are blended teas, which means they are made from more than one tea species. The advantage is that the flavor is stable and it is easier to ensure a relatively large output. Single variety means that the tea is made from only one kind of tea. Since there is no blending, it can better show the local flavor. At the same time, because the terroir is affected by the season of the year, the tea produced every year is slightly different, which is a true "once in a life time" flavor.
MatchaEasy cooperates with a family-style tea garden in Ujitarawa to launch a single variety of matcha every year, allowing tea lovers to experience the flavor of non-blended matcha.
The premium matcha launched this year is: Uji Hikari
The variety Uji Hikaru literally means it is the variety that Uji City is proud of. The taste of this matcha is smooth and delicate, with an outstanding sweet aroma and a slight freshness.

In order to better understand the operation of cooperative tea gardens, MatchaEasy also visited tea gardens and communicated directly with tea farmers. It is hoped that through exchanges, tea lovers will not only be able to learn about tea products, but also have the opportunity to understand and explore Japanese tea knowledge.
Corporate Tea Factory is located in Ujitarawa, the tea fields are located in the mountainous town of Wazuka. The tea trees are protected by the mountains , forming a special terroir and environment. It is also one of the important reason why tea-producing area is famous in the Uji.
The tea garden is family-run and has more than a hundred years of tea-making experience . The tea factory produces a single variety of matcha, ground with three stone mills, and only uses Ichibancha (new tea harvested in May every year) to make tea.
In addition to the single variety of matcha, MatchaEasy has also collaborated to launch a Japanese tea series, selecting Japanese tea that is rarely available in Hong Kong, giving tea lovers a different Japanese tea experience!
