Powders for tea latte making

While all tea powders may work with milk, some work better than the others so I’ve selected them for you. Tea latte making can be fun by trying out different combination and brewing methods, yielding very different results.

Quick guide

• Aoarashi / Kogetsuen Houjicha / Marukyu Koyamaen Houjucha B will yield a good quality tea latte found in individual cafes
• Suzuki will carry less bitterness than Aoarashi and more aftertaste, only found in expensive lattes in upscale cafes.
• Yugen (Recommended) provides a vibrant flavour when mixed with milk with strong aftertaste and some umami that one cannot find in cafes.
